Planning a Caravan HolidayCaravanning - when it goes right it can be the perfect holiday; at one with the great outdoors, the freedom, the nature, what more could you want? But when it goes wrong it goes very very wrong! Which is why, to make the most of you caravanning experience, it's always better to be prepared. Now I don't want to put the dampers on this great country but if you're planning on holidaying in good old Blighty it's always best to go with the odds and be prepared for bad weather. Spring, Summer, it never seems to matter here, if it's going to rain it's going to rain whether it's the middle of July or not! So play it safe and pack some umbrellas and some warm clothing so that way you're ready for anything that comes your way and if that's a fortnight of glorious Summer Sunshine, well it's a bonus! When it comes to Caravanning it's not just what you pack but how you pack! And I'm not just talking about whether or not you fold your clothes! If you've spent all day traveling to find the perfect campsite the last thing you want is to open the doors of your caravan to find its contents in a heap on the floor! Make sure everything is bound securely and lock any cupboards! On the subject of caravan contents it's always best to make sure yours is well equipped. It's surprising how much better the little home comforts like a kettle and a toaster can make your caravan holiday. You're caravan is your home away from home so make it your own. So you've packed well and you're all prepared now its time to find the perfect camp site and there are absolutely hundreds to choose from. From the Granite highlands of Scotland to the chalk downs of Dorset, you decide on your perfect location and there's bound to be a site. When choosing the site there's a couple of things to bear in mind. Check the site fees, the average cost for a pitch and hook up per night is usually between £5 and £20 per night depending on the season and the sites features, so don't be taken for a ride if you know the price seems a bit extortionate. Make sure you're site has all the necessary facilities, there's getting back to nature and there's going a bit too far! Check that you're well placed for amenities - you may not want to stay somewhere too urban but whilst it's all very well being in the wilderness it's not great if you need a pint if milk! Finally, don't forget to bring a good book for those comfy nights in. There's nothing more cosy than an evening in a caravan surrounded by countryside, with a good book - and a couple of glasses of wine! For a Free Caravan Insurance Quote Click Here |
