Norfolk - Time to Explore
Norfolk is a great destination at any time of year. Explore the coast and countryside on foot, bus or bike. Enjoy the searing cliffs near Weybourne and the magnificent expanse of Holkham beach, made famous by Gwyneth Paltrow in Shakespeare in Love. Nearby Holkham Hall is featured in The Duchess, starring Keira Knightley.
Visit Swaffham, which doubles as the fictional town of Market Shipborough featured in ITV’s Kingdom, starring Stephen Fry. Nearby is the beautiful village of Castle Acre, a planned Norman settlement created by the Warenne family in the 11th and 12th century, with its castle, priory, church and town.
Take the train to Thetford and walk the ‘Dad’s Army Trail’ – much of the 70s sitcom was filmed in and around the town, then catch The Bittern Line from Norwich for The Broads at Wroxham. or stay on the train for the North Norfolk Coast at Cromer, Sheringham and West Runton.
You can also catch The Wherry Lines train service to Great Yarmouth with its world famous Golden Mile, including the spectacular indoor summer and Christmas circus at The Hippodrome.
