Log House Holidays

Log House Holidays offer 8 eco-friendly retreats hidden away around a 130 acre SSSI lake nature reserve in the Cotswolds. Each of the Scandinavian log cabins is hidden away from one another with unspoilt lake views, hot tub, private beach, traditional log fire and rowing boat and offers total seclusion from the rest of the world.

From verandas and balconies to large picture windows, all of the spacious houses enjoy spectacular, unspoilt views of the lake with its many coves and islands. Perfect for spotting the family of otters that share this special place.

The log cabins are positioned to give you total seclusion in the nature reserve – and this private space with open nature is what really sets these holiday homes apart. The bespoke luxury interiors are all uniquely furnished with antique furniture and art, as well as boasting fully equipped kitchens and stylish bathrooms.

All of the log houses come from Finland and are designed for all weather conditions. This means they are cool for a summer holiday and incredibly cosy on a winter break so no matter what time of year you book your stay, the log houses will offer the perfect retreat.

Log House Holidays is family run and offers something completely unique for anyone looking for a short break in the UK; authentic Scandinavian log cabins set out in total seclusion with all the luxury features you could dream of.

Inside, each getaway has been individually furnished with antique furniture and modern appliances and some of the luxury comforts include underfloor heating, Egyptian cotton bed linen and 5 star luxury towels. Your stylish kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need and the cosy wood burning stove adds a magical atmosphere to your living space. Stylish bathrooms with big powerful showers and roll top baths add that final luxury touch and out on your lakeside decking, you’ll find traditional Finnish outdoor furniture, an outdoor fire pit and of course the lake view hot tub to complete the dream accommodation.

Every house comes with its own rowing boat to explore the lake, an outdoor BBQ, and a traditional Finnish hot tub designed to be used in all seasons.

OUT AND ABOUT

There are many picturesque and historic towns and villages to discover. The quaint atmosphere of villages nestled in the Cotswold hills provide a great day out as you explore winding roads on foot, enchanting gardens and fantastic pubs with all of their local produce. Old towns with excellent shopping and dramatic history await with experiences that will make your getaway truly special.

Bourton on the Water - One of the most famous villages in the Cotswolds for its quintessential English feel. The clear waters of the River Windrush run through the town itself and the many low bridges that crisscross the waterway have given this village the name of “Venice of the Cotswolds”.

Burford - The steep main street is teaming with history and stunning Cotswolds architecture. Some dating back to the 17th and 18th Century, this place has a lovely atmosphere. The medieval bridge sits at the bottom of this main street and stands over the River Windrush.

Chedworth - This attractive sprawling village is spread out along a valley side in the rolling Cotswold landscape. Hidden in the Chedworth Woods is one of the finest surviving illustrations of Roman Villas in Britain. Enjoy seeing some truly pioneering inventions introduced to England by the Romans – from mosaics, to bathhouses and latrines, to under floor heating.

Cirencester - Just 15 minutes away and is the nearest town to your lakeside getaway. One of the major Roman towns and with a rich history since, this stunning market town is a must see.

Tetbury - Around 20 minutes drive. This thriving town’s beauty lies not just in the land around it but also in the elegant listed buildings, which line its winding streets. The pillared seventeenth century Market Hall is the centrepiece of the town. Lots of antique shops - in fact one of the biggest antique centres outside of London.

Cheltenham -  About 35 minutes drive. Renowned for its regency architecture, stylish shopping and independent bistros, this town is well worth a whole day and evening out.
