Silver Sands Holiday Park

Set in the dramatic and lovely countryside of the Lizard Peninsula, Silver Sands Holiday Park offers guests a choice of holiday homes, touring and camping in a mature parkland setting. The park is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The park has won the coveted David Bellamy Gold Award in conservation. This award is in recognition of Silver Sands Holiday Park's commitment to the preservation of the natural environment in Cornwall.

The park is great for families, couples and singles alike. They do not have a clubhouse or a bar because they do not want to disturb the natural peace.

It doesn't matter whether you want a relaxing away from it all holiday or if you want to engage in a more active sightseeing and touring holiday the park is ideally placed for both. The park allows pets if they are well trained and their owners are responsible.

The pitches are spacious and are separated by mature trees and shrubs.

The site's first field has pitches for touring caravans and campervans. These pitches come with electric hook-ups. This field also features a fleet of holiday homes.

They have reserved their second field exclusively for tent camping. A few of the camping pitches have electric hook-up points. All the pitches are situated around the outside of the triangular field. There is a play area located in the middle.

CARAVAN HOLIDAY HOMES FOR HIRE

Silver Sands Holiday Park has three grades of caravan holiday homes: Deluxe, Superior and Standard. Deluxe are fully centrally heated caravans while there is a gas fire in the lounge for all the others. Deluxe and Superior come in two sizes – 2 bedrooms and 3 bedrooms while Standard comes in 2 bedrooms only. Specific holiday homes are reserved for use by our guests who wish to bring one pet (two pets allowed in Pet Friendly Superior 3 Bedroom Caravan).

There is also a 4 bedroomed Lodge which sleeps 8+ for hire - please see website.

OUT AND ABOUT

The park is in a great place for exploring the Lizard and Cornwall.

There is an enchanting woodland path that leads to Kennack Sands Beaches. The West Beach is pet free, but the East Beach allows dogs. There are two cafes that serve the beaches.

Guests can choose to swim in the mild Gulf Stream at any one of the local beaches and coves. Those that are energetic can try diving, surfing or wind surfing with tuition from one of the local schools.

Walkers will enjoy coast path walks to the Lizard Point and beyond to Coverack and around to the Helford River Estuary. You can also walk the footpaths of the Lizard away from the coastal path.

Fishermen have a variety of choices in the local area. You can go fishing from the beach, sea fishing from the local ports and freshwater fishing at Garras and other places.

Attractions that many guests like to visit are the beautiful gardens of Trevarno, Trebah and Glendurgan. Each garden is beautiful all year, but they are especially lovely in the spring with the azaleas, camellias, wild bluebells, primroses and violets. If you look carefully you will even see orchids at the roadside.

In this area of Cornwall the National Trust has many properties. The most famous and notable property is St. Michael's Mount in Mount's Bay.

Guests might want to spend time exploring the local enchanting fishing villages of Cadgwith, Mullion, Porthleven and the many others in the area.

You can even choose to walk around the pretty Helford village on the banks of the River Helford. You may also choose to take the ferry across to the Ferry Boat Inn, where you can enjoy a lunch or drink while sitting beside the water. From there you can take a ferry journey down the Helford River.

Only a few miles away is the National Seal Sanctuary at Gweek. Children are always fascinated by the seals. Children of all ages might also enjoy a day out at "The Flambards Experience" our side of Helford. You can explore Falmouth and the National Maritime Museum as well. Just a short drive away is Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary, which is another great attraction for children.
