Greendale Farm Park

Set in landscaped grounds and surrounded by farmland, Greendale Farm Park is a 5 Star Adults Only small touring park. They have 12 hard standing pitches, surrounded by grass, that all feature electric hook-up. The park itself is surrounded by farmland and rolling countryside, which makes for a calm and relaxing stay for guests. All guests are assured a friendly welcome when they arrive.

Facilities include a heated toilet and shower block, laundry services, a shop, a tourist information area and a small lending library. The small shop sells ice-cream, eggs, milk, mini toiletries essentials and some local products, in the main season. There is a small solar-heated outdoor swimming pool on the site. All of the site's pitches are within view of a birdfeeder.

Being in the middle of the country Greendale may, on occasions, have some agricultural noise; otherwise it remains a very peaceful site. After many years of achieving David Bellamy Gold conservation awards the site continues with this ethos, of protecting and maintaining the natural environment. At least 80 different species of birds have been seen on the campsite. Regular visitors are goldfinches and woodpeckers.

The site is just a short walk from the village of Whissendine where great food is available at a cosy, dog-friendly pub. A well- stocked village shop/post-office sells newspapers and essentials There is also a working windmill that is renowned for its organic stoneground flour. A regular bus service (except Sundays) travels to Melton Mowbray and Oakham – with connections on to Stamford and other local towns. Oakham also has a railway station.

The farm makes a perfect base for walking, cycling, bird watching, art, eating out, exploring heritage, Barnsdale Gardens and Rutland Water. There are nature reserves in the area to visit, one of which is famous for the osprey project. Other activities to enjoy include water sports, fly fishing, cycling and more. There are some attractive stone villages to visit nearby as well.

Rutland is the smallest county is England which makes it the perfect place to relax and rediscover yourself. The county is famous not just for Rutland Water but also its countryside, peace, great cuisine, lifestyle and heritage. Those that are not familiar with the area will be pleasantly surprised.

The campsite is 6 miles from Rutland Water, 4 miles from Oakham and 6 miles from Melton Mowbray. Lying halfway between London and York, Rutland can be found in the middle of Leicester, Nottingham, Lincoln and Peterborough.

PLEASE NOTE:

1. Greendale is a 100% non smoking site, both on the site and at our entrance. Response from previous customers is overwhelmingly supportive of this. If you are a smoker please contact us BEFORE continuing with a booking.

2. A non-returnable deposit is payable on booking, between Apr to Sep, and full payment then 1 month before your arrival date.

3. Weekend bookings [1,2 or 3 days] are rarely accepted more than a few days in advance & subject to space, although names can be taken in reserve. Ask to be put on the last minute list.

4. Watch out for our late FILL A GAP OFFERS in the main season.  Short spaces are more tricky to fill so we offer these at a discount. Do ask!
