Loch Ness Bay Camping
Since 1963 the MacDonald-Haig family have been providing quality accommodation and riding at Borlum. They love welcoming friends both old and new to enjoy the peace and splendour of their 400 acre hill farm. There are views over Loch Ness from many different vantage points on the farm.
Borlum Farm have re-situated the camping and caravanning site to another side of the farm and have created 25 new 10m x 10m hard standing pitches (17 with electric hook ups) for Caravans and Motorhomes. These pitches are designed in a horsehoe format with a large grassy central area suitable for Tents and smaller Campervans.
There has also been investment in a new reception area and two new toilet block facilities for Ladies and Gentlemen which are fitted with 6 showers to a block and have ample toilet, shaver points and washing facilities. These are also suitable for Disabled users.
The free “Pot Wash” and coin operated laundry facilities (Washer and Dryer) are situated between the other two blocks.
OUT AND ABOUT
The local area has a wide choice of restaurants, fishing, hill walking, boating, tennis and bowls available. The Borlum Bay woods themselves are a nature conservancy site for rare woodland, bog plants and wildlife.
Nearby Inverness features a good shopping centre, golf, curling, a swimming pool, museums and theatre. Inverness is on a good bus route and it only takes 20 minutes to get there by car.
Some of the most amazing scenery in Scotland is located in the area with much to see and do. There are many roads and tracks that lead deep into the surrounding hills and glens where you are sure to spot buzzards, heron, roe deer, red squirrels and other wildlife for those that are looking for peace and beauty. Clients of Borlum Farm often find that they can get closer to wildlife on horses as the deer are used to seeing the horses on the hills too. Another activity that guests enjoy is monster spotting, but they cannot guarantee a sighting.
Loch Ness Bay Camping’s BHS approved horse riding centre is very popular and cater for most ages and all abilities. They can provide you with regular quality instruction, a peaceful trek or an exhilarating trail ride. The Highland Riding Centre is home to Riding for the Disabled and gives visitors the opportunity to use the high quality facilities available and take part in one of many unique ridges. They can arrange Riding Holiday Packages to suit your own requirements.
