In Dorset, Lyme Regis is only a 20 minute drive away and here you can visit the fossil beaches and Forde Abbey is a magnificent former monastery where there’s plenty to see and do, including picking your own fruit during the summer months.
In Devon there’s Diggerland for the children and the seaside resort of Seaton where you can take the Seaton Tramway to Colyford and Colyton.
Those of you who prefer activities closer to home can cycle to Illminster, or if you enjoy a challenge then take the 80 mile South Somerset circular route, which passes the campsite.
Walkers can explore the Chard Nature Reserve or if you’ve got little there are two circular walks from the campsite.
Golfers can enjoy the greens and the driving range at Wind Whistle Golf Club just 2 miles from the site and if you’re keen on fishing you can get a permit for the Nature Reserve.
