  • Balloch O’Dee Campsite and Trekking Centre

Located on the edge of the Galloway National Forest Park, Balloch O’ Dee is a lovely small farm nestled in stunning countryside.

Balloch O’Dee Campsite and Trekking Centre is located 15 minutes from the coast and has numerous wonderful beaches nearby. Children say it has some of the best crab fishing in the world. It is surrounded by forests and mountains and sits at the foot of Cullvenan Fell.

    **** OPEN ALL YEAR ****

The site is an amazing base for wildlife enthusiasts. It lies on the edge of a 4,000 acre forest. Rare birds are never far away. Sometimes Deer wander through the farm. There is an abundance of wildlife all around you.

Balloch O’Dee Campsite covers about 15 acres and can accommodate a maximum of 5 tourers and as many tents as the site likes. The site has no static caravans and their emphasis is on space so that guests won’t be crammed in.

They have converted one of the barns into a good shower room with piping hot water, toilets, wash basins and sinks where you can wash up. You can also use this room to dry your clothes. They have electric hook-ups for tourers.

They have built a number of individual Scottish stone barbeques around the site so if you don’t want to lug yours along with you then you can use the sites. Charcoal and wood are normally available at the farm. The site also offers free range eggs from their rare breed hens to their guests.

Balloch O’ Dee has its own pony trekking centre. It is based just down the road at the idyllic Three Lochs Park. The park is surrounded by beautiful waterside tracks and spectacular woodland trails. They have ponies to cater for all ages and from beginners to more experienced riders. The centre is very friendly and informal and is designed to create a lovely relaxed and safe atmosphere for the entire family.

    THINGS TO DO
Three Lochs Park, where the park runs the trekking centre from, is just down the road. It is set in stunning scenery around the 3 great lochs and offers a wonderful array of activities. You can enjoy fishing, shooting, stalking, archery, mountain biking and golf. It also features a small indoor heated swimming pool, a cafe and a small shop.

The Trekking Centre is a big attraction for the campsite but if you want to do something else on your stay then you couldn’t be in a better place.
