Our Club Site is only a few miles from the Victorian resort of Weston-super-Mare, and is great for visiting the coast or walking inland. The Mendip Hills – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – is also near the Site.
• The town of Weston-super-Mare has miles of sandy beaches and is great for families and those who enjoy kite-surfing and water sports.
• The Helicopter Museum has the world’s largest collection of helicopters.
• As well as the beach, Weston-super-Mare has a good shopping centre, award winning Grand Pier – still open despite a devastating fire in 2008 – and SeaQuarium aquarium.
• Clarks Factory Village has many factory outlets and several children’s play areas.
• Boat trips go round Bristol’s historic harbour, viewing some of its interesting bridges. The dock area has recently been rejuvenated.
• Wookey Hole Caves’ attractions include a museum, Britain’s last surviving hand made paper mill and many activities for children to enjoy.
• The caves and gorge at Cheddar make an excellent day out.
• Brean Leisure Park is south west England’s largest fun park.
• Brean Down is a promontory of land with dramatic cliffs and Victorian fort.
• Brean Down Tropical Bird Garden has birds from around the world.
• England’s smallest city, Wells, has a 12th century cathedral with a medieval clock showing the universe with the earth at its centre.
