Set on a traditional working Welsh hill farm, this family run Caravan and Campsite lies on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park nestled in between the Moel Eilio and Mynydd Mawr Mountains.
This 180 acre sheep farm has been in the Griffith family for over 300 years. There are lots of other animals to see; donkeys, lamas, pigs, chickens, ducks and turkeys. If you visit us in the spring, you can even see some of our new born lambs.
Tyn-yr-Onnen is the perfect spot for those who want to experience the outdoors, go off of the beaten track and enjoy breath taking scenery.
The campsite offers sheltered pitches, with hook-ups if needed, recently refurbished toilet block with free hot showers, baby changing facilities, disabled shower rooms and a utility room.
There is a play area for Children and a Television room with table tennis, pool table. There is plenty of space for BBQs; we even allow camp fires in one of our camping fields; after all we think that camp fires are an essential part of camping. If you are interested in Wild Camping then drop us a line.
Tyn-yr-Onnen also has self-catered accommodation, with 3 lodges and a modern static caravan for hire, so you can enjoy this quiet picturesque location with some added luxury.
From the farm there are 100s of acres of heath land on your doorstep to explore, with many walks for beginners or the most adventurous can walk to the top of Snowdon from the Farm, we will be happy to recommend some of our favourites.
Its not all about mountains and walking, there are castles to explore in Caernafon, Bangor, Beaumaris and Harlech, beautiful beaches of the Llyn peninsular and Anglesey. Electric Mountian, LLanberis Slate museum, Lakes, Rope Adventures, Diving, and outdoor adventures from Kayaking to coast Steering in LLanberis. There is truly something for everyone if you want some suggestions just ask.

SELF-CATERING ACCOMMODATION:
Lletyr Bugail - Sleeps 4
Lletyr Bugail has been totally refurbished during the winter months. We have installed a new kitchen, new bathroom, and gas-fired central heating. There is also a flatscreen TV, and wireless Internet access, which is free of charge.
The accommodation includes, one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, lounge, bathroom with shower, fully equipped kitchen (microwave, fridge, oven) and BBQ facilities.
We have also added a large decked area with table and chairs to enable our guests to enjoy alfresco dining whilst savouring the spectacular mountain views.
Gwel-y Moel Mobile Home - Sleeps 6
This is our mobile home, less than five years old, and in tiptop condition. It is situated near one of our feeding areas, so if you enjoy watching donkeys, lamas, and sheep with their lambs, whilst having breakfast, then this is the place for you.
You have the added benefit of outstanding views of the Moel Eilio and Mynydd Mawr Mountains.
The accommodation is spacious, an open plan layout and an excellent specification, with three bedrooms; one double, one twin and a bunk room. Shower room with wash basin and w/c. A fully equipped kitchen including an oven, fridge and microwave. There is a TV, and wireless Internet access, which is free of charge.
Outside there is a fenced decking area and table to sit and enjoy the countryside and the evening sunset, perhaps with a drink.
Cilmynydd Chalet - Sleeps 6
Cilmynydd is undergoing a significant make over, a new kitchen has already been installed. We're currently in the process of installing new bedroom furniture, new flooring, and complete redecoration.
Cilmynydd is a spacious chalet with lounge, fully equiped kitchen, 3 bedrooms (1 double, 2 single, 2 bunk) and bathroom. There is also a TV and wireless Internet access, which is free of charge.
Outside there is a fenced garden area with picnic table. There are wonderful views of the Moel Eilio and Elephant Mountain from the chalet.
Buarth-y Wern - Sleeps 5
This wooden chalet is in a fantastic location, secluded by trees, with excellent Mountain View's and a small brook running very close by. So if you like the peace and tranquillity of being in the countryside and enjoy the clean air, and the sound of water, then this is the place for you.
We have just installed new kitchen and completely redecorated this chalet. There is a TV, and wireless Internet access, which is free of charge.
The central heated accommodation includes 3 bedrooms, one double, one twin, and one single, a bathroom, lounge and kitchen.
Buarth-y Wern also benefits from its own simple garden, off road parking and a decking area.
Our self-catering accommodation has every modern convenience to enable you to really enjoy your Tyn-yr-Onnen farm holiday experience.
In all our self-catering accommodation we provide duvets and pillows, please bring your own duvet covers, pillow cases, sheets, towels and tea towels.
A well-behaved dog is allowed in our accommodation, as long as they are not left alone and our guests take full responsibility to ensure the property is left in a clean condition.
