The beauty of the Cotswold villages surrounds our Site at Chipping Norton. The buildings and churches in golden stone were built on the riches of the woollen trade, and The Site itself is an ideal place for a relaxing break.
Chipping Norton the gateway to the Cotswolds is a bus ride from Site. Its parish church is one of the finest in the country.
The town has a museum, cinema, theatre and leisure centre. There are many antiques shops and plenty of places for eating out.
Hook Norton brewery is open to the public. It still uses a steam engine and other traditional methods to produce its beer.
Hidcote Manor has gardens in an arts and crafts style.
Stow on the Wold is a lovely small Cotswold town.
Stratford-upon-Avon is known as the birthplace of Shakespeare. It is also home to a butterfly farm and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
The Cotswold Falconry Centre and Batsford Arboretum are both at Batsford near Morton-in-Marsh. The Falconry gives an insight into the ancient art in a natural setting and the Arboretum is one of the countrys largest private collections of trees and shrubs.
Blenheim Palace, set in 2,100 acres of beautiful parkland, is home to the 11th Duke of Marlborough and the birthplace of Winston Churchill.
Oxford is accessible by bus from outside the Site. Visit the worlds oldest public museum The Ashmolean or take a stroll round the many colleges that make up its world famous University.
Bourton-on-the-Water is an elegant town. Its attractions include Birdland, Dragonfly Maze, Perfumery and Motor Museum.
The Chiltern Sculpture Trail is in Cowleaze Wood.
