A perfect base for exploring the amazing coastline and other attractions of North Cornwall, our Club Site near Bude is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The local beaches are a surfer’s paradise and also great for building sandcastles.
• Join the South West Coast Path – Britain’s longest National Trail – and walk to the beach at Crackington Haven or Tintagel.
• King Arthur’s legendary home is Tintagel Castle, now managed by English Heritage.
• The Launceston Steam Railway runs narrow gauge trains on the old North Cornwall Railway, linking Launceston with New Mills.
• The lovely village of Boscastle, tragically famous because of the floods of 2004, is five miles away.
• Sea fishing trips run from Boscastle. Catch mackerel, trace wrecks or search for sharks from the harbour.
• Bude town is nine miles north. The clifftops here form one of the most spectacular sections of the South West Coast Path.
• The Bude Canal has flat towpath walks, marshes and thriving wetlands. It is great for birdwatchers, walkers and cyclists.
• Cyclists can also enjoy the Camel Trail, which follows a disused railway along the Camel Estuary from Padstow to Bodmin Moor in the rugged heart of Cornwall.
• Local beaches include Widemouth Bay with its splendid expanse of sand. Surfing schools are run from the beach.
• Hidden Valley Discovery Park allows the whole family to take part in the Crystal Challenges and the Vault.
• Bude Jazz Festival is one of the UK’s leading festivals, taking place towards the end of August every year. Book early if you want to stay during the event.
