Goathland is close by with it's station on the North Yorkshire Railway. There are steam and diesel engines on view as well as reguale special weekends. Goathland was chosen as the perfect setting for the ITV drama "Heartbeat" due to it being in such a secluded position in the North Yorshire Moors.

Dalby Forest is 10 miles away with it's visitor centre mountiamn biking and beautiful walks and Go Ape adventure playground.
